Black Ops 3 CE Details To Be Revealed At Comic-Con
Treyarch will unveil the new Call of Duty Black Ops III: Zombie mode, and its "star-studded" voice cast, at Comic-Con on July 9.
The developer will also reveal details of the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Collector's Editions at the convention.
Zombies director and lead writer Jason Blundell will lead the panel to debut the "mind-bending tale of the undead", during which attendees will receive Zombies memorabilia only available at Comic-Con.
Comic-Con visitors will also be able to participate in the Black Ops III Zombies Escape Room Challenge, which requires attendees to work together, solve clues and escape the room before time runs out.

Read the Latest Details about Tales of Symphonia's PC Debut
Tales of Symphonia is coming to Steam in early 2016.
Originally released on the Nintendo GameCube, the classic JRPG found its way to PS2 and was given an HD makeover for PS3. According to the official Tales of blog, the HD version will now also be ported to Steam.
Also announced on the blog was a collector's edition for the European release of Tales of Zesteria. This edition includes: 4 Chibi Kyun Chara figures, a Lady of the Lake sanctuary cloth artwork, a hardback artbook, a 30-minute anime DVD, a selected soundtrack from the game, an exclusive Normin metal case, and the collector's edition box.

Plants vs. Zombies Gets Garden Warfare Comic
Dark Horse Comics announced Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare today, to bridge the gap between the two games of the same name.
In the first Garden Warfare, Dr. Zomboss was attacking Suburbia. Garden Warfare 2 has the plants going on the offensive to reclaim their home, and the comic series will explain how Zomboss took control of Suburbia.
The comic will be written by Paul Tobin of the previous PvZ comics Lawnmageddon and Timepocalypse, with art from Jacob Chabot. It will start on October 28. Garden Warfare 2 is set to release in 2016.

Funko Reveals New Glow-in-the-Dark Fallout Pop! Figure
An all-new version of Fallout's iconic Valut Boy figure has been announced, and it glows like a nice bottle of Nuka-Cola Quantum.
This green glow-in-the-dark Pop! Vinyl will be available soon domestically, and Popvinyl.net reports rumors of it being a possible Hot Topic exclusive.

Mortal Kombat X's Predator Gets Release Date
You'll be able to play as Predator in Mortal Kombat X as early as July 7th if you've purchased the Kombat Pack DLC pass, or you can buy the character separately on July 14th.
NetherRealm revealed the dates on Twitter today with the caption, "Soon the hunt will begin..."
Predator will be the third downloadable character for Mortal Kombat X.

How Troy Baker Got The Job in Far Cry 4 is Kinda Insane
Prolific voice actor Troy Baker has revealed how he managed to land the role of villain Pagan Min in Far Cry 4, and it turns out it involved threatening to murder an assistant.
Speaking at a panel for Indy PopCon 2015 (via Underground Geek Network), Baker talks extensively about his history with voice acting as well as reminisces about some of his most successful roles. The entire thing is worth a watch, but a particular standout moment is when he recalls how he landed the role of Pagan Min.
He explains he was trying to channel elements of Christoph Waltz's character in Inglorious Basterds - someone who is clearly a psychopath, yet has immense fun with it. To this end, when he relayed an exchange that took part when the casting assistant in charge of making sure the room had enough coffee and water in walked into the room.

The Last Guardian Would Have Been Cancelled Without Fans
Sony has admitted it "probably would have" cancelled The Last Guardian if people had stopped asking about it.
Speaking to the latest issue of Edge magazine (via Videogamer), SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida talked about the technical issues the game encountered on PS3, and the rocky road to transferring development to PS4.

Mortal Kombat X #8 Review
At this point, Mortal Kombat X has established itself as a fundamentally solid comic with lackluster execution. When the series takes the time to narrow its focus and remain fixated on one group of characters, the results are enjoyable. But too often it gets caught up in the ever more complex web of conspiracies and betrayals linking the MK cast. Issue #8 falls victim to that familiar trap at times, but also rises above more often than not.
The first chapter in this issue is easily the weakest, as Shawk Kittelsen's script clumsily bounces between the Johnny Cage/Sonya Blade thread, the Scorpion thread, the Raiden threads, and various other running conflicts. The scripting improves in the second chapter, however, as Kittelsen focuses largely on fleshing out the rise and fall of the Johnny/Sonya romance in the years after Mortal Kombat 9. These scenes are far too brief. but still vital in exploring a softer side to both characters. This chapter also gives the book a bit of the humor that it too often lacks.

Australia's Getting its First Queer Gaming Festival in GX
Queer gaming festival GX, formally known as GaymerX, is coming to Sydney.
GX Australia is an LGBT-focused event designed to emphasize "inclusivity across the board", says organizer Joshua Meadows.
"GaymerX in the US has renamed itself to GX, to put less of an emphasis on the "gaymer" part that had caused some confusion as to whether or not the convention was only intended for gay men, or was unwelcoming to people who aren't in the queer community, and stuff like that", Meadows said.
"We've been discussing this with the US team behind GX since they originally launched their event in 2013, and we're very excited that after the success of GaymerX in San Francisco, Australia was picked as the first international location for the convention."

Mega Man Vinyl Figures Charge Up for SDCC
For years, we have heard rumors of Kidrobot—the popular vinyl toy and apparel company—and Capcom teaming up to release a line of Mega Man vinyl figures. With a successful launch of Kidrobot’s Street Fighter blind box vinyl toys, it seemed like the perfect fit for both companies to properly showcase one of videogames’ most recognizable brands in Mega Man.
The wait is officially over.
San Diego Comic-Con will mark the debut of Kidrobot’s Mega Man line with two exclusive 7’’ jumbo vinyl figures, a Break Man variation of Proto Man, and the red and white suit variation of Mega Man. These variations will lead into Kidrobot’s full Mega Man line of toys, due out in September 2015.

Dark Horse Deploys Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Comic Book
On November 4, Dark Horse Comics will be releasing a Call of Duty: Black Ops III prequel comic book by writer Larry Hama (G.I. Joe) and artist Marcelo Ferreira (Transformers, TMNT).
"A prequel to the highly-anticipated game, the Call of Duty®: Black Ops III comic book series follows an elite group of soldiers as they wage a secret war across a futuristic war-torn world transformed by technology," Dark Horse detailed in a press release. "In the bullet-ridden first issue, the team infiltrates Tashkent, Uzbekistan to take down a double agent . . . but as they close in, they uncover something much more sinister at hand."

Dark Souls Franchise Sales Pass 8 Million Mark
From Software's Dark Souls franchise has sold over 8 million copies globally.
The figure comes courtesy of Famitsu (via Neogaf) and includes four key titles: the original Dark Souls and Dark Souls with the Artorias of the Abyss expansion, as well as Dark Souls II and the remastered release, Scholar of the First Sin.
Demon's Souls and Bloodborne are not included.
As for specifics, Dark Souls and the Artorias of the Abyss sales stand at just over 5 million, while Dark Souls II sales are just under 2 million and Scholar of the First Sin edition sales for PS4 and Xbox One sit at around 530,000. Interestingly, it's on the PC that the game has seen runaway success, with more than 3.25 million copies sold on that platform.

Star Wars Battlefront Leads Game Critics Awards Best of E3 Nominees
This year's Game Critics Awards Best of E3 nominees have been announced. IGN's Game of the Show, Star Wars Battlefront, leads the way with five nominations, followed by Fallout 4 and Horizon: Zero Dawn with four each.
2015's Best of Show nominees are Fallout 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Oculus Touch, Star Wars Battlefront, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Release Date Revealed for New King's Quest
Sierra has revealed that the first chapter of King's Quest: A Knight to Remember will be available in North America on July 28 for PS4, PS3, and PC. On Xbox One and Xbox 360, it will be available on July 29.
This first chapter will cost $10. In addition, King's Quest: The Complete Collection is a bundle of all five chapters, and is now available for pre-order on PSN and Steam for $40. Xbox One pre-orders will begin on July 7.
The upcoming King's Quest follows the story of an aging King Graham reflecting on his life of adventures.
IGN has a preview of the King's Quest reboot for you, which says that it will "rekindle your love of adventure games." King's Quest will also be featured in the upcoming Xbox Summer Spotlight.

GTA Online Getting Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 Update Next Week
Rockstar has announced the second part of GTA Online's Ill-Gotten Gains update will be released on all platforms on July 8.
Following on from the first part, this update adds new clothes, vehicles and more along with the previously PC-exclusive 'The Lab' radio station. More details will be coming next week, though Rockstar also confirmed a second Ill-Gotten Gains Social Club Event Weekend will kick off on Friday July 10.

Additionally, The Independence Day Special is set to return soon, with old favourites like the Firework Rocket Launcher available at reduced rates. In our review of GTA Online, we said that it offers players "an experience like nothing else out there right now."

Joel Actor Troy Baker Claims Ignorance on The Last of Us 2
The voice of Joel in The Last of Us has denied knowing anything about a sequel to the critically-acclaimed post-apocalyptic title.

Destiny's Iron Banner Hits Tomorrow, June 30
Destiny’s player-versus-player event Iron Banner returns tomorrow, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. PT, developer Bungie announced today.
Players participating in the week-long Crucible event can earn two armor pieces with arm gauntlets and a chest piece. Two weapons are also up for grabs, a machinegun and the legendary pulse rifle Skorri’s Revenge.

Nolan North May Have Outed The Last of Us 2
Voice actor Nolan North casually dropped word of a Last of Us sequel during a recent Q&A panel.
"For now, last one," North said on the video, when asked if he has any upcoming projects with Naughty Dog aside from Uncharted 4. "I know they're doing a Last of Us 2 but my character in Last of Us kind of had an untimely demise."
It is possible that North is mistaken. His answer was in the context of explaining why he doesn't have any other Naughty Dog projects lined up, so whatever scuttlebutt he's heard wouldn't have been inside information from a cast member. However, he's well known and connected enough to give his word some credibility.

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Review in Progress
I've already put about two dozen hours into Final Fantasy XIV since the Heavensward expansion came out, and I've spent that time battling dragons, following an uncommonly well-written story for an MMORPG, and generally saving the world. I'm currently halfway to level 53 (out of a new cap of 60), and I'd probably be much further along if it weren't for a nasty sting I received from a striped bark scorpion on Friday morning.
Now here's the catch — the vast majority of that time has been spent slogging through old content from before the Heavensward expansion. That's right! In order to even play the new Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward content or even try out the three new jobs of Dark Knight, Astrologian, and Machinist, you need to play through the entire main storyline from the launch of the game up until the 2.55 patch that was released just last April. (Check out the quest titles: I was on page 5 when I started.) Keep in mind that this romp includes much more than the usual business of watching cutscenes and teleporting all the way across the continent just to read two lines from a white-haired kid in tights; it also means jumping into several four- and eight-man dungeons and trials that range from the ridiculously simple to those requiring considerable feats of coordination.

Destiny: Why Bungie's MMO Shooter Is So Successful
With interest in Bungie's online first-person shooter still on the rise, Destiny's momentum is more comparable to an MMO than your usual shooter. Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg attributes this ongoing success to the strong cadence of carefully curated add-on content -- which is consciously different than that of Call of Duty -- that actively improves Destiny.
"A game like this requires a steady stream of content to keep people engaged and that’s core to this idea," Hirshberg told IGN at E3 2015. "That's what's been successful in keeping people engaged so far. We’ve had the right cadence to keep the game fresh and provide new challenges and new rewards. So that’s definitely the strategy."

Steins;Gate North America Release Date Announced for PS3, Vita
The visual novel Steins;Gate will release in North America on August 25 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
Rice Digital reports a special El Psy Kongroo Edition of the game will be available upon release, and includes a limited edition game box, art book, and other retailer-specific exclusive items.
Centered on a group of students who learn how to alter the past through unusual means, Steins;Gate tells a story of how these same students later find themselves in the midst of a large conspiracy spanning years. It was recently made available in Europe and can be found internationally on several other platforms, including the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation Portable.
